RR Dolphins 2018

What time is it??? Dolphins Time!

Welcome to the 2018 Season Dolphins. It’s going to be another great year and we are ready to get back in the water this week. I wanted to welcome all of our returning swimmers and families and also our brand new Dolphins to the team. Here is a little bit of information as practice picks up this week.

Practices

5/2 – NEW SWIMMERS ONLY. This is a chance to come and meet the coaches and get in the water when it is slightly less crowded. Since it is a smaller group, we will just be running two practices for the first day only. 9 and Under will be 4:30-5:15 and 11 and Up will be 5:15 -6:00

5/3 – ALL SWIMMERS. Times are as follows for the month of May.

4:30 – 5:15 – 8 and Under

5:15 – 6:00 – 9-12

6:00 – 7:00 – 13 and Up

How many practices per week?

We are there every day, Monday- Friday. Ideally, swimmers should attend as many practices as possible. The more they are in the water, the faster they will get back in swim shape and the more chances they have to learn/improve their strokes. I understand that May is typically a crazy month, but please come to as many practices as you can.

First Week

Remember that the first week of practice is the time for Coaches to meet the kids and see what lane they should be in according to ability. If your swimmer gets moved around a bit that first week it is perfectly normal. We do our best to try to make the lanes the same ability and to have the fewest number of swimmers per lane possible. Please realize that the Dolphins is one of the largest teams in the circuit so we have to utilize both of our pools for practice. It doesn’t matter what lane your swimmer is in. All we ask is that they have a good attitude, are willing to learn and are respectful to other swimmers and the coaches.

Weather

If practice is changed/cancelled due to weather, a notification will be sent out as soon as possible. We swim when there is light to moderate rain, but if it is pouring or thunder/lightning we will either delay or cancel practice.

Questions?

You should be able to find a Board Member the first week of practice roaming around that will be happy to answer any question you may have regarding the team. If it is a question about practice or something they may not be able to answer, please just find me or Coach Marcy either before or after practice and we will be happy to answer it for you.

Looking forward to seeing everyone this week,

Coach Tom
